Thinking about the first Earth Day. I was in Davis, California, at the University. I had written my first version of Genesis II, which had begun when I was taking astrophysics and a chapter in the text book began with “In the beginning there was hydrogen” and my mind went on into “and the hydrogen was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep…” I could get all the way to “and there was light,” using what I had learned as an astronomy major at Wellesley in the 60’s.
That first Earth Day, I was in a crisis caused by being rejected by yet another boyfriend. That story is written in the post about Genesis II.
In 2012, for our Earth Day Dance, I created an elaborate and beautiful centerpiece. For pictures see post about Earth Day.
