Written in writing group on June 26. \u00a0I was feeling very scared and worrying about Mocha’s illness. \u00a0I thought I would try talking to a part who was scared.<\/p>\n
I just want to cry.\u00a0 <\/span>My teeth have been chattering all day.\u00a0 <\/span>I don\u2019t know what to do.\u00a0 <\/span>Everything is scary.\u00a0 <\/span>If Mocha gets really sick I don\u2019t know if I will be able to take care of her.\u00a0 <\/span>I feel so clumsy.<\/p>\n
ME: how old are you?<\/p>\n
EIGHT:\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019m eight.\u00a0 <\/span>And I got left to take care of the younger kids.\u00a0 <\/span>Everything was OK, but I just felt inadequate.\u00a0 <\/span>I didn\u2019t know what I\u2019d do if anything went wrong.\u00a0 <\/span>What if somebody fell or something.<\/p>\n
M:\u00a0 <\/span>Didn\u2019t they give you a number to call if you needed help?<\/p>\n
E:\u00a0 <\/span>No, were they supposed to?\u00a0 <\/span>I thought I was just supposed to do whatever was needed.\u00a0 <\/span>They thought I could do it.\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>O gosh I\u2019m feeling lost and scared again.\u00a0 <\/span>What am I going to do?\u00a0 <\/span>I just want to hide.<\/p>\n
M:\u00a0 <\/span>Now wait a minute.\u00a0 <\/span>You\u2019ve got friends who can help.\u00a0 <\/span>There will be people you can ask what to do when Mocha gets to certain places.\u00a0 <\/span>You won\u2019t have to be all alone.<\/p>\n
E:\u00a0 <\/span>You mean I can ask for help?\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019ve always been scared to ask for help.\u00a0 <\/span>They made me wrong if I asked for help.\u00a0 <\/span>I was just supposed to know.\u00a0 <\/span>I thought I was stupid that I didn\u2019t know.<\/p>\n
M:\u00a0 <\/span>You don\u2019t know things if someone else doesn\u2019t teach you.\u00a0 <\/span>Some things you can find in books, but some things you just have to ask somebody.\u00a0 <\/span>Your Mom & Dad just made you wrong for asking?<\/p>\n
E;\u00a0 <\/span>Yes.\u00a0 <\/span>They didn\u2019t want to be bothered.\u00a0 <\/span>They acted like I should already know, what was the matter with me that I didn\u2019t. \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Oh I just felt so lost, so alone.<\/p>\n
I can\u2019t think of anything to say.\u00a0 <\/span>The weather is miserable.\u00a0 <\/span>Hot and wet, sun alternates with rain, so uncomfortable.\u00a0 <\/span>My head hurts and I\u2019m so tired.\u00a0 <\/span>Trying to understand why I\u2019m in this uncomfortable place.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Two days after this, I was visited by the Vet who comes to your home. \u00a0She didn’t think Mocha had the horrible disease, and she was able to watch her move around quite a lot. \u00a0It was a great relief.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
