My friend Elizabeth suggested that I needed to incorporate my positive side, instead of just the traumatized parts.\u00a0 The idea was to get the sort of picture that allows me to see my whole<\/span> self with compassion.\u00a0 Many times, when I\u2019ve been angry at myself for being depressed again again, I tell myself \u201cTake a big step back.\u00a0 Here\u2019s this woman who was traumatized in infancy\u2026\u201d\u00a0 Often I find my heart softening and compassion reaching out to this person who works so hard.\u00a0 Other times I just stay angry or sad.<\/p>\n

Because of Elizabeth\u2019s suggestion, I had been thinking of how painful it is to be struggling with despair and terror and to know that one has skills and talents that aren\u2019t being used.\u00a0 Or the desire to help the world in some bigger way than I am now.\u00a0 Wanting to make a big difference.\u00a0 A little voice says \u201cYou are already making a huge difference.\u00a0 You are changing the human energy field, and all the people who come to Neskaya are gaining in consciousness, and they are also changing the human energy field.\u00a0 The trauma you experienced in infancy was part of your training, forcing you to work on healing consciousness.\u201d<\/p>\n

That was a surprise!\u00a0 The Guidance voice stepping in when I hadn\u2019t asked it.\u00a0 As I was writing what it had to say, a rabbit popped up looking in the screen door.\u00a0 I believe that\u00a0 animals that appear when I\u2019m thinking or writing something are messages from the shamanic realm.\u00a0 Rabbit is about being quiet and listening carefully, to both outside messages and inside messages.<\/p>\n
