This was written at the end of December. \u00a0As I type it up, I see that the prayer at the end may also be part of the healing I experienced last week.<\/p>\n
I read some of the bits and pieces of Emmet Fox that Jack wanted me to read.\u00a0 One of the things I really want to try is the Seven Day Mental Diet where you try to entertain only positive thoughts.\u00a0 He says it\u2019s OK to have a negative thought come in to your mind, but not to dwell on it.\u00a0 The only way to really do that is to immediately focus on something \u201cpositive, constructive, optimistic, kind.\u201d\u00a0 My difficulty with this is not wanting to ignore people who are in trouble or struggling.\u00a0 I don\u2019t want to turn away from them.\u00a0 It came to me this morning that I could pray for things to get better for them.<\/p>\n
One thing I have trouble with is he says you can \u201cchoose\u201d your moods.\u00a0 This has not been my experience.\u00a0 Moods get triggered, they come out of the blue.\u00a0 I have tried to not buy into them by saying something like \u201cthis is brain chemistry, it is not the reality of my life.\u201d\u00a0 I\u2019m seeing now that though I have contradicted the mood, I haven\u2019t substituted something positive.\u00a0 What if I went on to say \u201cthe reality of my life is that I love the world, all its beings and things, and I want what\u2019s best for all.\u201d<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve come up against another block \u2014 a major one \u2014 I say \u201cYes, I believe miracles happen, but one will never happen for me,\u201d \u201cYes, prayer is effective, but not my prayers\u201d\u00a0 \u2014 because I\u2019m so defective, worthless and rotten?\u00a0 Jack says that\u2019s just as much ego as the one that says \u201cme first.\u201d\u00a0 According to Emmet Fox, I can pray to have that block removed \u2014 and I do so pray.\u00a0 Please, god, remove my block to receiving the fullness of being you intend for me.\u00a0 Please, god, I want that kind of life in which I don\u2019t make decisions, you make them for me.\u00a0 I offer myself to this process.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
