\nKaren was very helpful.\u00a0 I was stuck in that awful place of: I try something, look to see if it\u2019s working, and if not I conclude I can\u2019t do it.\u00a0 That old old pattern.\u00a0 Karen kept saying I WAS doing it, I\u2019m doing things differently.\u00a0 I had to make her say it several times and then I began to say it myself.\u00a0 So I have a new set of affirmations, and I remind myself again again, just because something doesn\u2019t work right away doesn\u2019t mean it doesn\u2019t work.<\/p>\n
\nAFFIRMATIONS:
\nIt is possible to heal
\nI am doing things that will help me heal
\nI am doing things differently
\nfrom how it was in my childhood
\nfrom what I used to do
\nI am telling the traumatized baby that I will stay with her, I won\u2019t go away, I will give her all the time and space she needs.\u00a0 I am committed to her welfare.<\/p>\nI am reaching out to my friends and they are delighted to help me.<\/p>\n
When I feel that overwhelming discouragement \u2014 that is the introjected voices of Mom & Dad.\u00a0 I don\u2019t have to try to convince then they are wrong \u2014 that\u2019s a negative feedback loop.\u00a0 What I need to do is tell them to get out, go away, and slam the door behind them.\u00a0 I CAN DO THIS.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
