\nYesterday, with Caryn, I talked about Obama \u201cWe elected him!\u201d and she asked how that \u201cwe\u201d felt in my body.\u00a0 It was hard to say.\u00a0 I felt strengthened, held upright \u2014 warmer \u2014 it was a good feeling, but I can\u2019t recover it here & now.\u00a0 As I talked about Obama I paid attention to what was happening in my body \u2014 that sense of renegotiation.\u00a0 Then there was a feeling of tingling on my skin which became a sort of bubbling in a layer just under the skin.\u00a0 I began to feel that push to rush out & do something, but I recognized that I didn\u2019t want to do that any more and made a gesture of pulling my arms back and circling the space in front of me.\u00a0 Then I could feel the energy in my abdomen.\u00a0 What a shift.\u00a0 I had a sense of being upright and completely relaxed.\u00a0 There was tension down the top of my arms that wouldn\u2019t relax.\u00a0 I began to recognize that as being a gesture of hanging on, or the one I know well of \u201cholding myself up\u201d \u2014 but I didn\u2019t have to do that any more, holding up was happening.\u00a0 I was remaining upright without effort.\u00a0 Caryn talked about the physiology, how that was the body\u2019s response to gravity.\u00a0 After a bit I felt like collapsing, but forward not back, so she brought out a small physioball and I hugged it \u2014 it was just right, I could feel it breathe.\u00a0 We propped up my sternum & chin & elbows so I could completely relax \u2014 it felt wonderful.\u00a0 I felt like a child \u2014 fat arms & legs \u2014 & also like a baby bear.\u00a0 I had felt like an adult bear earlier, feeling my anger and wanting to make a gesture and sound GRRRRRR! a little confusion about the gesture \u2014 were the palms facing out or in \u2014 but I\u2019m pretty sure it was not about attacking but about defending territory.\u00a0 After I had enjoyed the relaxation for a while, we saw that there was a very little time left.\u00a0 I asked for a story and she told me \u201cThe Seven Hats of Jizo\u201d which was very sweet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
