I\u2019ve been thinking more thoughts at R, trying once again to explain what my life is like.\u00a0 From the perspective that Kayla understood, that what I\u2019m up against is a physiological<\/em> process, not psychological or emotional, though it does have emotional consequences.\u00a0 I\u2019m not a person who sits around feeling sorry for myself.\u00a0 I\u2019m more like a person living with a debilitating chronic illness, and trying to live with it with as much grace and dignity as possible.\u00a0 I\u2019ve done a lot of talk therapy, and other therapies, and personal growth workshops, and they\u2019ve all given me skills to manage my life better.\u00a0 But the only things that have actually had a real impact have been ones that work directly on the body: medication, Somatic Experiencing, and thyroid supplements.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" (Written in January 2007) I\u2019ve been thinking more thoughts at R, trying once again to explain what my life is like.\u00a0 From the perspective that Kayla understood, that what I\u2019m up against is a physiological process, not psychological or emotional, … Continue reading
