Healing with Art

The Daily Good sends out a piece of positive news every day.  I don’t always read them right away.  Today I went back and started reading old ones that I had never looked at.  This one is from early January — I had never looked at it.  I’ve heard the name of the artist Lily Yeh, and her healing work.  This video shows her process to help the survivors of the Rwanda genocide build a memorial to their dead that would not only be a remembrance, but also a work that would bring healing.  I find this video to be incredibly moving and inspiring.  The use of mosaic reminded me of a wonderful book called “Broken for You,” which is about taking the broken pieces and creating a new whole.
